The Holistic Vitality Series · by Karin Collinsworth
Stability. Agility. Rise. The body is communicating.
A three-book series for the woman whose body has been trying to get her attention.
Cellular science meets ancient wisdom meets the practical question of how to live well in a body for the long haul. Plain language. Zero hype. Forty years of dedicated work, condensed into three doors anyone can walk through.
By Karin Collinsworth · 40+ year T1 diabetic · NIDDK DCCT/EDIC longitudinal study participant · Naropa-lineage yogi · Author of the Holistic Vitality Series
"Most chronic conditions are not separate epidemics. They are one root problem — cellular communication breaking down — expressing itself in different rooms of the same house."
Eighty-eight percent of Americans have some form of metabolic dysfunction. Most of them don't know it. The Holistic Vitality Series is the long-form work of someone who has spent four decades living inside this problem and the science behind it — and who has found, repeatedly, that the body is not broken machinery. It is an intelligent system. The work is learning to listen.
The Trilogy
Three books. One root system.
Each book stands alone. Together they form a complete picture: what blood sugar is doing to your body, where it fits inside cellular metabolism, and how ancient wisdom traditions mapped this same territory thousands of years before the research caught up.

Stability
Out 2026 · Foreword by Raymond Aaron
Blood Sugar Dogs
Stable Glucose, Real Energy, and a Life You Want.
The personal-story entry point. Written for the woman whose body has been trying to get her attention — energy crashes, blood sugar that spikes like it has a grudge, doctors nudging the medication conversation forward. Forty years of dedicated work, told through the story of a rescue dog named Cocoa who self-trained to detect blood sugar shifts before the monitor did.
The Complete Guide to Cellular Health, Lasting Energy, and the Metabolism That Changes Everything.
The science layer. Mitochondria, insulin signaling, inflammatory pathways, the gut-brain connection, the nervous system's role in metabolic health — the cellular biology made accessible without losing the rigor. Also the basis of Karin's signature keynote, delivered regularly to medical, public health, and corporate wellness audiences.
Ancient Wisdom, Modern Science, and Your Path Out of Chronic Inflammation.
The contemplative and embodied layer. Bridges cellular science with yogic and Ayurvedic tradition — Spanda and mitochondrial pulse, the koshas and systems biology, Yoga Nidra and the neuroscience of non-sleep deep rest. For the reader whose body is no longer in crisis but who knows there is a deeper layer.
The framework underneath all three books. Not a metaphor invented for a series — a pattern that kept appearing across forty years of yoga, enterprise IT, diabetes management, coaching, and the study of human potential. Lasting change in any living system moves through these three stages, always in this order.
S
Stability
Blood sugar off the rollercoaster. Cortisol out of the red zone. Sleep that restores. The foundation. You can't build anything lasting on an unstable base.
A
Agility
Once stable, the body can learn — read its own signals, adapt intelligently, work with cellular biology instead of against it. Fluency, not just management.
R
Rise
The body as platform, not obstacle. Ancient wisdom, embodied practice, the full inhabiting of a life. Health is not the destination — it is the ground from which everything else becomes possible.
About the Author
Forty years of dedicated work.
Karin Collinsworth is a public health professional, integrative health strategist, and 40-plus year student of yoga, Ayurveda, and contemplative traditions. She has lived with Type 1 diabetes since she was sixteen — one of the youngest participants ever accepted into the landmark Diabetes Control and Complications Trial, the NIDDK study that transformed how medicine understands long-term diabetes management.
Her father was a PhD microbiologist who contributed to the development of the first home glucose monitors and earliest insulin pump technologies. She grew up at the intersection of rigorous science and deep curiosity, and has spent four decades at that intersection — studying integrative nutrition, yogic science, and the ancient healing traditions that mapped the body's metabolic intelligence long before the research instruments existed to confirm it.
She studied in contemplative lineages tracing back to Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, founder of Naropa University. In 2020 she supported the online teaching of Yoga Nidra with Sree Devi Bringhi, founder of the Yoga Studies program at Naropa. The Holistic Vitality Series is the long-form summation of this work — forty years of practice, research, and lived experience, finally written down.
Her blood sugar alert dog, Cocoa — a black Lab and Golden Retriever rescue — detects glucose shifts before her CGM does. She lives in Washington State. She is older than she looks. She loves dogs unreservedly.
